Pride

This is the first piece of my concentration. I used a lion to represent pride, and put a crown on it's head to reinforce ride and also to make a connection to the human world. The piece is meant to have a sort of 3 layer effect, with the lion being the top layer, the color between the shards being the second layer, and the outline of a proud looking man being the bottom layer. I did this because I want to focal point to be the animal and its connection to the human world's use of this sin. Then the color can just push it forward, while also showing the mirror like shards in the background that show a partially hidden human who is taken over by the corresponding sin. My concentration is about the Seven Deadly Sins, and I'm showing them all in this style, with the first seven pieces being the sins, the next three being connections between certain sins, and the last two being loss of all and connection to all. Throughout my concentration, I'm referencing Adonna Khare as my master artist because she uses graphite to draw animals very realistically, while also telling a story, which is exactly what I'm trying to do.
