This piece is representative of lust. This is the second piece I have finished for my concentration. It has the same idea in set up as Pride did, with the three layers. This one's pattern of color is more focused on the color rather than the shards though. It forms a heart around the flamingos. The connection to how humans are lustful in this one is the plastic flamingo on the right side. It's supposed to represent lust as fake love, which is also why I chose flamingos, because their neck can shape into a heart easily, despite one of them being plastic and fake. It's easy to miss the people in the background, which is exactly what I was shooting for. After seeing the other pieces of this concentration, people would expect to see people hidden in the background, so I can afford to make them easy to miss in this one. One difficulty of this piece was the contrast and line work of the plastic flamingo. I needed to make sure it was obviously plastic while still keeping my theme of realism, so I did that by using drastic shading and little to no detail other than the feather grooves, and I also made the eye overly large and round. Again, my concentration master artist is Adonna Khare, whom I can reference for techniques in graphite and animal realism.
