This piece was a quick one because I realized halfway through that I didn't like it. however, I didn't want to leave it unfinished, so I did the background much simpler than I had originally planned. The idea of the piece is that not all those in America have liberty in present day, and the Statue of Liberty is protesting with other Americans to have all Americans be given liberty. I mostly just wanted to do some dramatic line work to begin with, and I could find that in the toga she wears. Her hand is in a fist rather than holding the book as she usually does. This is to further symbolize her speaking out silently. I just thought I might try something political, but it didn't work out how I had planned and ended up sub par in my opinion.
