Goldfish

This piece is of a goldfish. I was experimenting with acrylic paint backgrounds and how I could create patterns with just slightly differing colors and whites. It ended up looking like tumultuous water, so I decided to paint a goldfish onto it. A piece that I looked to for some ideas on how to make the fish more realistic was "Siamese Fighting Fish" by Michael Creese (see below). I ended up using markers and pens over top the acrylic paint and then smearing it while it was still wet to get more reddish or yellowish tones into the oranges.
