Flower Arrangement Progress

This piece was inspired by pressed flower arrangements. I wanted to do something nature oriented because it's always been one of my weaker spots. I love how this is turning out though. I still have more flowers and leaves and such to add and to color, but it's coming along nicely. The main point of this piece is the concentration and the balance of the piece, both in color and in form. I went with a triangular shaping for the arrangement, and bent the flowers and leaves to work toward the triangles lines without making the triangle itself obvious. One such artist that does these concentrated pressed flower arrangements is Anne Ten Donkelaar (some of her work is shown below). I used so many references for this piece that I can't include them all, but basically i looked up every kind of flower that was the size and shape I wanted and colored them as I pleased.
