This piece is of a trumpet player. The foreground (trumpet player) is very unsaturated so that it doesn't take the full effect away from the colorful background. The background of this piece is actually more important than the foreground. It is an abstract depiction of the Harry Potter soundtrack. The soundtrack begin in the lower left hand corner, wit purples and greens and pinks to show Harry learning about the existence of magic. It adopts yellows and loses the darker shades of purples and greens to show his wonder at learning how to do magic, and his experiences with the other young wizards and witches. It then almost abruptly becomes darker as it arcs over to the right hand lower corner, where Harry must face off against Voldemort and all evil. I was inspired by Wassily Kandinsky to do this type of background, and although they all look like doodles in the end, I really love the backstory of it and the purpose. I had to listen to the soundtrack multiple times at the exact same points to draw and then to color, so that was a challenge I faced while creating it. Th background is in sharpie, and the foreground is acrylic paint.
