Paradise Library

This piece was done as a last effort before the school year started. It's simple concept of a girl choosing books in a library. It uses one point perspective to give depth. The many colors of the books pop out in contrast with the unsaturated floor and wall. The black in the background was meant to be simple white, but I found that too boring, so I added a excerpt of "space". The white dots are stars. The quote is from Jorge Luis Borges, and says "I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library." I used this quote to show why i did the piece and to give it purpose, and also to fill blank space. I used sharpies for the books, paint for the floor and wall, and Prismacolor pencils for the girl. I outlined everything to define them more and make the scene more cartoon-like.
